ACQUISITIONS

This module provides comprehensive collections control. Through this the administrator can place the order for the various Items to be purchased for the library such as books, CD's, newspaper, magazines etc. Once the Item is received, its invoice entry is also done through this module.

FINE CALCULATIONS

The librarian may collect fines and penalties as per library policy. He may wave off any dues as per the policies of the management. Automatic fine calculation is done by the software between two particular dates. This is time saving and reduces manual errors.

REPORTS

This module helps to print the information in the collection to select individual book or entire collection to be used for the Print function. This helps to print various kinds of reports which can be set up for a monthly, weekly or yearly interval.

LOANS

This module helps to store information on books that currently are, or have been, on loan, new books for loans, calculation of fines for books which has not been returned before the due date.

Loan Item - Loan an item from the collection to someone.
Return Item - Return a loaned item to the collection.
Manage Loans - The Manage Loans screen allows the user to see the outstanding and previous loans.
Loan Settings - Set the default period after which loans become overdue

INWARD STOCK

This will help the librarian record the details of the stock of books and the vendors from which they have been bought from.

ISSUING AND RETURNING OF BOOKS

This will help the librarian record issue and borrowing of books from the library to students and staffs within the institution. Here the calculation of fines can be done to help the user find out who has not returned books after due date and calculate appropriate fine.

CATALOGUING

XIPHIAS L.M.S provisions a simple interface to align records in an indexed format. The software treats all new receivables like books, CDs, magazines, newspapers etc as a record. Any changes to the properties of the record are reflected on the index warranting most updated and accurate catalogue of records on the system.

VENDOR DETAILS

The Vendor module allows the user/librarian to update details of the vendors who supply books to the library. Information such as vendor name, address, phone no, city, state, country etc are maintained in this module.

DYNAMIC SEARCH

This module helps to dynamically Search for information related to items such as: - books, journals, Newspapers and Magazines, CD, DVD etc. The search options on the software provides for both basic and advanced field to track exact as well as most relevant keywords.

BOOK DETAILS

This module allows the librarian/user to add, view, update and delete all details of books in the library. Information such as author, title, published date, publisher, ISBN, etc. Keeping an accurate database of all the books, articles and all items is necessary as it would improve the overall of productivity of the library.

Self-Service Registration Kiosk has created a new avenue for the students who can directly register their details in Library Department and generate the Library Registration Number. After filling-up the details, students will submit the form and generate a registration number that will be unique to her/him.

This kiosk helps in maintaining the data for the students and staff and keeps a track of each book issued and returned along with the dates. This is the most successful way of tracking each books. Also, it manages newly arrived books and automatically calculates the fine for each late submission of book.

The books are catalogued in a specific order, either with Book name initial or Author name initial, and the same is followed throughout. Soon after searching for the availability of books, the kiosk will show the status in terms of total numbers of books available, and issued.

The kiosk allows the Library Registration and Renewal Fees directly from the kiosk. Cut down the long queues and the waiting time, and submit the membership registration/renewal fees directly from kiosk.This is applicable for anyone who is a part of that institution, including student and staff.

The kiosk facilitates the students and staff to self-check-out of the library premises. After issue or submission of the book, the students can directly check-out without any assistance.After getting the books issued and/or submitting the books, the staff and students can check-out the kiosk without any assistance. The entire process i.e., selection of books, request for specific book, issue and return is very smooth.
